Consultation and prices

Your first consultation will take about an hour, sometimes longer.  To build a complete picture of your individual health you will be asked about your medical history, stress levels, diet and lifestyle.  With your consent, you may undergo a physical examination and a urine sample may be taken for analysis.  On occasion it may be advisable for you to be referred for further tests to aid diagnosis eg hormone status.  Following diagnosis you will be prescribed a mixture of herbs tailored to suit you as an individual.  No two patients will ever receive the same treatment for the same condition, which is why treatments bought over the counter may have little effect.  Prescriptions may be in the form of tea or tincture, capsules, pessaries, lotion, ointment or cream.  Your progress will be reviewed during a 30-45 minute follow-up consultation, in two weeks to a month, depending on your condition.

The time taken for healing to take place varies according to a number of factors, such as the duration of an illness, its severity, and the general vitality of a person.  Therefore, acute conditions may show rapid resolution while chronic conditions may take longer.  Approximately, you could expect optimum healing to take around one month for each year of illness although even for chronic diseases some improvement is usually apparent after a couple of weeks.  Rarely, a condition cannot be treated by an herbalist and in such cases you may be referred as necessary.

Prescription prices (the higher price includes postage and packing/ lower price is for collection only):

Tinctures: £9/ £7 per 100 ml

Dried herbs:  £8/ £6 per 100 g

Creams/lotions/ointments: £5/ £4 per 30 g

Capsules/ pessaries: 25 p/ 20 p each (about £5.25/ £4.20 for one week's treatment.

Shampoos/conditioners: £5/ £4 @ 200 ml

 Wherever possible, herbs are organic and tinctures are made from fresh herbs.   All are sourced from reputable growers and suppliers and are quality assured.

Working arrangements: 

Chiro-Practice: Wednesday 9.30 am to 6.00 pm

Western Herbal Care clinic: occasional Saturdays 10.30 am - 2.30 pm

In some circumstances other days and times may be arranged to suit
